Tidal Glass Sculpture is a one-of-a-kind Tiffany-style sea glass pendant, inspired by the movement of water and the naturally weathered fragments found along the shoreline.
Individual pieces of softly frosted sea glass have been arranged and joined using traditional Tiffany-style techniques with silver-coloured lead-free soft solder. The solder has been deliberately worked into irregular, textured forms, creating flowing lines and sculptural details around and between the glass.
An open metal framework surrounds the central composition, giving the pendant a wonderfully organic quality and allowing light to pass through the sea glass, revealing its subtle variations in colour and translucency.
Rather than aiming for perfect symmetry, I have allowed the shapes of the sea glass and the making process to guide the finished piece. Textured solder, irregular edges and visible hand-worked details are intentional and make each piece completely individual.
The pendant is finished on an adjustable black cord, allowing the length to be altered to suit.
