Entangled Seaweed is a one-of-a-kind sculptural pendant inspired by tangled seaweed, rock pools and the tiny treasures found along the shoreline.
The centre combines shimmering pieces of abalone shell with natural shell fragments, sand and mixed media, encapsulated in resin to create a miniature coastal landscape. Iridescent flashes of blue, green and pearl contrast beautifully with the warmer earthy tones beneath.
Around the centre, hand-worked soft soldered copper twists and loops into an irregular organic framework, reminiscent of strands of seaweed moving through the water. The metal has been textured and darkened to emphasise its sculptural form and give the piece depth and character.
Irregularities, tool marks and variations in texture are deliberately retained as part of the design, making this a completely individual piece of wearable art.
